How to Remove Cockroach from Kitchen on Your Own



Cockroaches are those annoying pests who dwell in your house, but very difficult to remove. Getting rid of roaches naturally can be a slow process. Roaches are perhaps the most despised pests on the planet. Not only do they carry diseases, but they’re associated with a dirty environment. Getting rid of them naturally not only keeps your family from being exposed to harmful chemicals, but it can also prevent the problem from reoccurring. So how do you do it?


Clean Your House
A clean house is key to keeping cockroaches away, and the first place to start is the kitchen. Wash your dishes and put food away promptly after meals. Clean up crumbs and spills right away, and generally keep the area clean. Pay special attention to range tops, as cockroaches love grease. That means wiping down the counters each night, never leaving dirty dishes in the sink, making sure the stove top is clean and sweeping the floors before you go to bed.


Eliminate Water Sources

Roaches are attracted to moisture and water from leaks in pipes. That's why you often find them scurrying under your sink. Find all water leaks in your house and fix them. Before bed, dry all sinks, tubs and showers completely and plug the drains. Don't let water stand in your sink and don't over water indoor plants.


Hide Your Food

Keep food in sealed container. Roaches are small enough to get into the cardboard packaging or loosely closed boxes and bags. Store food in metal, glass, or hard plastic sealable containers.




Use Cockroach Baits

You can use several kinds of baits to catch them and kill them. There are several kinds of insecticides and roach killing poisons available in the market. Place the bait in an area where you know cockroaches will encounter it, such as along baseboards, under the sink, and in corners. It should be as close to the nest as possible, so that as many roaches as possible will eat it and take it back to the nest. Once the roaches eat the poison, they go outside and then they die.

Use Boric Acid

Mix three parts boric acid with one part powdered sugar. The sugar lures the roaches, while the boric acid kills them. The sugar and flour attracts the roaches, and the boric acid kills them. Sprinkle the powder in the backs of drawers and cabinets, under the refrigerator, under the stove, and so on.

Use Insecticides

There are several insecticides available in the market which can destroy the bugs. These are chemical products which are very effective on them. You can spray the insecticides wherever you find them and thus you can remove the cockroaches from kitchen. Apply along baseboards, in cracks and crevices,under appliances, around door frames, window frames and in areas where utilities enter into the structure.
